NEET-UG Paper Leak: Centre Tells Supreme Court It Will Share All Details

New Delhi: The Centre has informed the Supreme Court that it is prepared to provide all details related to the irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, India’s national medical entrance test.

The Centre made the submission while responding to petitions concerning irregularities in the conduct of the examination. It told the court that it could provide details of the entire process, from the printing of question papers to their delivery to students.

The government also said it was willing to submit in writing all the precautionary measures adopted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure the secure conduct of the examination.

The submissions were made while the Supreme Court was hearing petitions related to the NEET question paper leak.

The transparency of the examination process had come under intense scrutiny following the controversy. Protests demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were held across the country. A major protest organised by student organisations at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi drew widespread attention.

The NTA has faced a major crisis following allegations of serious lapses in the conduct of the medical entrance examination.

The alleged question paper leak raised concerns over the future of students who had spent years preparing for the examination. Although the Education Minister was replaced following the student protests, the Centre has yet to address the concerns faced by students, the report said.
