Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi Joins BJP, Ending 30-Year Congress Ties

Guwahati: Assam Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi has joined the BJP, ending his 30-year relationship with the Congress party. This move comes after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma publicly invited Pradyut to join the BJP.

Bordoloi stated that his resignation followed his attempts to contact AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal to discuss the issues he was facing within the party, but he received no response. Bordoloi, who was part of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, has made allegations that Gaurav Gogoi and the party leadership were attempting to undermine him. It is also speculated that Pradyut Bordoloi will be the BJP candidate from the Dispur constituency in the upcoming assembly elections.
