Bus-Tractor Crash Kills Two, Injures 11 in UP's Amroha

Lucknow: Two people were killed and 11 others injured after a speeding bus collided with a tractor-trolley loaded with cement on National Highway-9 in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district on Monday, police said.
The crash occurred around 6 am on the Mohandabad flyover under the Gajraula Kotwali police station limits. The bus, travelling from Manali to Nepal, rammed into the tractor-trolley from behind, killing two passengers at the scene.
The deceased were identified as Bhagirath, 45, and Surbhit, 42, police said.
According to PTI, local residents helped rescue passengers trapped inside the bus. Police teams later arrived and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals, while those who are seriously injuries were transferred to other hospitals for further treatment.
As per Additional Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Bhadauria, the bus driver may have lost control after becoming drowsy, leading to the accident.
