Mass Layoffs: Adidas Plans 50% Job Cuts at India Tech Hub

New Delhi: Sportswear giant Adidas is reportedly planning to lay off around 50% of its workforce at its technology hub in India. More than 30 employees are said to be facing the possibility of losing their jobs, including software engineers, data scientists and data engineers. Adidas has confirmed that it is reducing positions in its technology division in India. However, the company has not officially commented on the reported layoffs. The employees facing job losses have reportedly been divided into two groups. Those in the first group received termination notices on Tuesday, while employees in the second group have been asked to continue working until December 15. Reports also suggest that the company may offer these employees other positions within Adidas. It remains unclear whether employees being laid off will receive severance benefits and salary for their notice periods. Adidas has said the job cuts are aimed at simplifying the company's structure as the technology landscape continues to evolve. The reported layoffs are taking place at Adidas' office in Gurugram.
