Srinagar: A CPI(M) delegation led by General Secretary M.A. Baby has arrived in Kashmir, following the recent Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent escalation in tensions between India and Pakistan. The delegation was received in Srinagar by CPI(M) State Secretary Mohammad Abbas Rather.
The visiting team includes Polit Bureau member Amra Ram, Lok Sabha leader K. Radhakrishnan, Rajya Sabha leader John Brittas, and Members of Parliament Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, Su Venkatesan, and A.A. Rahim. The two-day visit is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
CPI(M) had initially planned the visit for May 10 and 11, soon after the Pahalgam attack. However, the delegation postponed the trip due to the intensifying India–Pakistan conflict. During their stay, the leaders will engage in discussions with political party representatives and key civil society members in Srinagar.
A public meeting is also scheduled for Wednesday at Tagore Hall in Srinagar, where CPI(M) leaders will address the gathering.
