Six "Self-Goals" in One Month; CM V D Satheesan Is Courting Notoriety, Says V N Vasavan

Kottayam: CPI(M) state secretariat member V N Vasavan said that even as Cristiano Ronaldo made history by scoring goals in six World Cups, Chief Minister V D Satheesan has earned notoriety for scoring six "self-goals" within a single month. He was speaking to the media in Kottayam.
Vasavan said Satheesan's first self-goal came when he sang portions of "Vande Mataram" referencing a religion-based nation, in violation of the Congress Working Committee's own decision. He went on to score further self-goals by using artificial intelligence to prepare the White Paper, a minister appointing his brother-in-law as Additional Private Secretary, and naming Pankaj Bhandari's lawyer K B Pradeep as Special Government Pleader. He also signed off on the Bacardi file at lightning speed and granted a tax concession on liquor. Finally, Vasavan said, the Chief Minister's double standards were on display when he addressed the public sentiment surrounding the Champakulam boat race — taking one stance while standing and a different one while seated, he remarked.
