“V D Satheesan With RSS and Jamaat-e-Islami; What Fight Against Communalism?”: M V Govindan

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) Kerala state secretary M V Govindan on Tuesday said Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan was surrendering before the RSS and Jamaat-e-Islami, raising serious questions about his claim of fighting communalism.

Govindan said Satheesan himself had stated that he would continue to move forward by keeping Jamaat-e-Islami with him, and asked how such a position could be justified while speaking against communal forces. He said the opposition leader was making hollow statements and had so far failed to give a clear reply to questions on his reported submission before the RSS.

Pointing out that Satheesan was openly admitting that Jamaat-e-Islami would remain an ally, Govindan said this exposed an attempt to gain political advantage by aligning with organisations that hold communal positions. He was speaking to the media here.
