Kochi: Weeks after US-based CorroHealth Infotech Private Limited laid off nearly 1,000 employees, another round of mass layoffs has been reported in Kochi, with Talrop terminating the services of around 300 employees.

The company has reportedly told employees that it is shutting down operations due to the impact of artificial intelligence (AI).

On July 3, CorroHealth dismissed around 1,000 employees working in Kochi and Kozhikode without prior notice. The latest layoffs come even as the Corrohealth continues to reject proposals put forward by the state government following their mass dismissal.

Representatives of CorroHealth management did not accept the demands or suggestions made by either the government or the affected employees during discussions on the issue. With no settlement reached, the meeting concluded with a decision to hold another round of talks on the 20th.

During the discussions, company representatives said the dismissed employees would not be allowed to enter the office and should remain at home until the next round of talks on the 20th. They also rejected a proposal to retain as many employees as possible at the company's Keralam offices and transfer the remaining staff to its offices elsewhere in the country. According to the company, the office is being shut down due to a lack of work.
