Thiruvananthapuram: The survivor of the sexual assault case involving former Youth Congress state president and MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil has filed a complaint with the cyber police over persistent online harassment targeting her and her family.

According to the complaint, the attacks are being coordinated through Congress-supporting cyber groups and certain online channels. The survivor stated that her private photos are being misused, and offensive comments meant to harm her reputation are being widely circulated.

She alleged that these actions are politically motivated, aimed at defaming her in connection with the case. The harassment intensified after the bail release of Rahul Eshwar, who had previously been arrested in relation to the case.

The complaint also demands action against posts that reveal the survivor’s identity. There is widespread public outrage over the Congress cyber wing allegedly portraying the survivor as the wrongdoer while attempting to shield Rahul Mamkoottathil. Similar attacks on women by Congress-affiliated online groups have been reported in the past.
