Possibility of Rain in Kerala: Weather Alert for Upcoming Days

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has announced the possibility of rainfall in various districts of the state from Thursday to Saturday. From the 19th to the 21st, light to moderate rain is expected in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta, and on the 20th and 21st, the same is predicted for the Idukki district as well.

A low-pressure area that had been present over the central part of the South Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Indian Ocean area near the equator has moved in a northwestward direction. It is now located over the southwestern Bay of Bengal and the equatorial Indian Ocean. This system is likely to continue moving northwestward and strengthen further over the southwestern Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas on February 18.

Additionally, another cyclonic circulation is persisting over the southeastern Arabian Sea near the southern Kerala coast, around 0.9 kilometers above sea level, as per the warning.
