Kochi: The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court-II has rejected the bail pleas of the accused in the case involving a Mini Cooper crash at Nedumbassery that killed three people. The court dismissed the bail applications of the first accused, Suhail Sajeev, who was driving the car, and Ninav, Ameer and Joel, who were seated in the front. The Angamaly Magistrate Court had earlier rejected their bail pleas as well.

Devika Santhosh, a native of Madakkimala in Wayanad; Gopika, from Manarkad in Palakkad; and Iyas, a native of Sulya in Karnataka, died on the spot in the accident in the early hours of October 11.

The 19-year-old Suhail Sajeev, who was driving the vehicle, has been charged with culpable homicide, while the other three have been charged with abetment.

The prosecution argued that the accused should not be granted bail at this crucial stage of the investigation.
