Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has once again joined the coveted 10 -crore club, marking its second- highest daily ticket revenue in history. On Monday, KSRTC recorded a collection of 11.71 crore rupees, following its all-time best daily revenue of 13.01 crore rupees on January 5.
Minister K B Ganesh Kumar lauded the transport corporation for achieving this historic milestone. “Every consistent achievement we secure is the result of our collective effort. Through teamwork, we will continue to achieve such milestones. We’ve come a long way from where we started, and this progress is thanks to those who supported, advised, and even constructively criticised us. Congratulations to Team KSRTC,” the minister wrote on Facebook.
Sustained initiatives and operational reforms have been key to KSRTC’s steady performance. The proof is evident in the growth of average daily collections, from 7.8 crore rupees in December 2024 to 8.34 crore rupees in December 2025. In January 2025, the average daily revenue was 7.53 crore rupees; this month, it has already risen to 8.86 crore rupees.
This surge is not due to occasional spikes or one-off days of high earnings. Instead, improvements in passenger amenities and service quality have steadily attracted more travellers back to KSRTC.
The number of daily passengers has also risen, from an average of 19.84 lakh in 2024 to 20.27 lakh currently, an increase of roughly 43,000 passengers per day. KSRTC’s annual passenger growth now stands at 1.6 crore.
The continuous revenue gains are the result of strategic directives from the Chief Minister, timely reforms by the Transport Minister, and the coordinated efforts of employees, supervisors, and officers alike.
KSRTC management’s ongoing initiatives, including the introduction of new buses and enhancements in service quality, have strengthened the corporation’s popularity among passengers.
Minister Ganesh Kumar expressed his gratitude to the KSRTC CMD, all staff, and loyal passengers who contributed to this proud achievement.
