Thiruvananthapuram: To ensure smooth travel for devotees during the Sabarimala Makara Vilakku, KSRTC is gearing up with 1,000 buses. Of these, 199 buses will be allocated for the Pamba chain service, while 801 will serve other routes.

The CMD has instructed that all necessary maintenance work on the buses be completed on schedule. Although the Travancore Devaswom Board requested 800 buses, the transport department has approved additional vehicles to meet the demand. Since the beginning of the Mandala season, KSRTC has been arranging extra buses. Adequate services have been provided for the Pamba chain as well as from various depots to Pamba and back.

On average, 95 to 100 buses operate per hour from Pamba. The reservation system has been streamlined, and budget-tourism buses have been arranged for groups of devotees to ensure convenient and quality service. Compared to previous years, this initiative is expected to generate an additional revenue of approximately 24 million rupees.
