Kerala to Lead Global Ayurveda Research with International Center

Kannur: The International Ayurveda Research Center, established with the goal of elevating India's unique system of medicine, Ayurveda, to global standards through modern research, will be handed over to the state by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.


The inauguration will take place on February 25th at 10:00 AM at the Kannur Kalliad IRIA campus. Health Minister Veena George will preside over the ceremony, and K.K. Shailaja Teacher will deliver the welcoming speech.


During the ceremony, Speaker A.N. Shamseer, Minister Ramachandran Kadannapally, and M.V. Govindan MLA will participate. The first phase of the building, completed in Kannur Kalliad on a 300-acre site with an investment of 200 crore rupees, includes a research hospital with 100 beds, a medicinal plant research center, a nursery, and a palm leaf manuscript study center.


The institute will prioritise research and treatment for cancer and age-related diseases.


Over forty international research institutions have already expressed interest in collaborating with the center. The main goal of the institute is to present Ayurveda globally in an evidence-based manner.
