Kerala State Film Awards 2024: Sharada Wins J C Daniel Award, Mammootty Best Actor

Thiruvananthapuram: The 2024 Kerala State Film Awards were presented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Veteran actress Sharada received the J C Daniel Award, the highest film honour of the Kerala government, which carries a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees, a citation, and a sculpture. The award for Best Actor was presented to Mammootty for his performance in the film Bhramayugam.
Shamla Hamsa won the Best Actress award for her role in Feminichi Fathima. Awards were also presented to 51 film personalities, including Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Vedan, Lijomol Jose, Jyothirmayi, Soubin Shahir, Sidharth Bharathan, Chidambaram, Fazil Mohammed, Sushin Shyam, Sameera Saneesh, and Sayanora Philip, among others.
The award ceremony was held at Nishagandhi Auditorium, with Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian presiding over the function. Ministers V. Sivankutty and G. R. Anil, Film Awards Jury Chairman Prakash Raj, Kerala State Film Academy Chairman Resul Pookutty, Mayor V V. Rajesh, and several other dignitaries were present.
