Elections Will Be Held for 23,612 Wards in Kerala; 1,712 Wards Added

Thiruvananthapuram: Elections to local self-government institutions in Kerala will be conducted for 23,612 wards. In 2020, elections were held for 21,900 wards, but following ward reorganization based on the 2011 Census, 1,712 new wards have been added.
The elections will be held in two phases on December 9 and 11, and the results will be announced on December 13.
The ward distribution is as follows:

District Panchayats: 14

In Gram and Block Panchayats, the minimum number of wards is 14 and the maximum is 24. In District Panchayats, divisions range from 17 to 33. Municipalities have 26 to 53 wards, while Corporations have 56 to 101 wards.
