IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain in Kerala; Yellow Alert Issued in Seven Districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued heavy rainfall across Kerala. Over the next five days, the state is likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.
A yellow alert has been issued today for the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki.
Rain is also expected in Sabarimala Sannidhanam, Pampa, and Nilakkal. Within a 24-hour period, rainfall may range between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm.
Fishing has been prohibited today and tomorrow along the Kerala and Lakshadweep coasts due to rough sea conditions. Wind speeds are likely to range between 35 km/h and 45 km/h, with chances of sea turbulence.
