Thiruvananthapuram: Minister V Sivankutty has announced that the Kerala Government will organise an official event in Thiruvananthapuram to honour Sanju Samson, who was named the player of the tournament for this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The minister said the Malayali star, who is the pride of the state, will be formally honoured by the government. Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other ministers had also congratulated Sanju for his remarkable achievement.
In a message, the Chief Minister said the thrilling victory against New Zealand national cricket team in the final would remain etched in the hearts of every Indian. He noted that Sanju Samson’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament and his decisive contribution in the final had made him the backbone of the India national cricket team.
The Chief Minister added that Sanju’s success has brought immense pride and excitement to Malayalis across the world, demonstrating that great achievements are possible when talent and hard work come together. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Indian team for becoming the champions and to Sanju Samson for his crucial role in securing the victory.
