Kannur: International services from Kannur Airport, which had been suspended by airlines amid the threat of war in West Asia, will resume its operations from July 1, with 69 weekly flights to various countries set to restart. These are the services that had been temporarily halted due to the crisis. Flights to the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman will resume from the 1st.

The resuming services include 14 flights to Abu Dhabi, 12 to Sharjah, 10 to Doha, 9 to Dubai, 7 to Fujairah, 4 to Muscat, 3 to Riyadh, 3 to Ras Al Khaimah, 3 to Kuwait, 2 to Jeddah and 2 to Bahrain. Air India Express and IndiGo resuming Abu Dhabi services, along with IndiGo restoring its Fujairah operations, will bring fresh momentum for Kannur.

Several Gulf routes that had faced temporary reductions or cancellations due to the West Asian crisis have also returned to normal. Air India Express has restored its Bengaluru services as well, while IndiGo has resumed its Hyderabad flights.
