Kochi: Congress leader and MP K Sudhakaran appeared before the Kerala High Court and tendered an unconditional apology over his remark that a judge "had no sense." Accepting his unconditional apology, a Division Bench comprising Justice V Raja Vijayaraghavan and Justice K V Jayakumar closed the contempt of court proceedings against him.

The controversy stemmed from Sudhakaran's comments on the verdict in the Shuhaib murder case. Reacting to the High Court Division Bench's decision quashing a CBI probe into the case, Sudhakaran had remarked that the judge "had no sense."

Contempt proceedings were initiated on a petition filed by advocate K Janardhana Shenoy, who argued that the remarks had lowered the dignity of the court. Although Sudhakaran had earlier submitted an affidavit expressing regret, the High Court directed him to appear in person before accepting his apology.
