Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will continue in Kerala for the next four days. Rain is expected to be particularly heavy in South Kerala and Central Kerala.

There is also a possibility of isolated thunderstorms with rain and strong winds. Caution is advised in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Idukki, as heavy rain is likely in these areas.

The public is urged to be cautious, as there is a high chance of thunderstorms from noon until 10 PM. It is recommended to avoid open areas during this period.

Although there are no immediate obstacles to fishing along the Kerala coast, those venturing into the sea should remain vigilant to weather changes. Travel to hilly areas should be avoided as much as possible during rainfall. The rain in the state is being caused by the influence of a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal.

The Disaster Management Authority has also warned that winds could reach speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour in some areas, increasing the risk of trees being uprooted and electricity poles being damaged.
