Deshabhimani Triumphs at Kudumbashree National Saras Fair, Sweeps Three Major Awards

Kootanad: Deshabhimani emerged as a standout at the Kudumbashree National Saras Fair in Chalissery, clinching three prestigious honours in the print media category.

The newspaper took home awards for Best Photographer, Best Reporter, and Comprehensive Coverage, underscoring its journalistic excellence. Sharath Kalpathi of the Palakkad bureau was recognised as the Best Photographer, while Akhil Balakrishnan earned the Best Reporter accolade. Both received a cash prize of 5,000 rupees and a citation, marking a moment of pride for the publication.


The Kudumbashree National Saras Fair, held at Mulayumparamb ground and a specially arranged nearby venue, concluded successfully. The event featured 250 exhibition and sales stalls from 28 states and eight union territories. Handicrafts, jewellery, textiles, household items, and daily-use products were showcased and sold. The fair also offered a Mega Indian Food Court, seminars, a flower exhibition, and a Happiness Corner, drawing large crowds throughout its run.
