CPI(M) Does Not Have a Tradition of Lighting the Ceremonial Lamp Before the RSS Chief, Says MLA Mohammed Riyas

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) leader and MLA P A Mohammed Riyas has accused Chief Minister V D Satheesan of attempting to divert attention from the controversy surrounding government pleader appointments instead of answering questions on the issue.
Speaking to the media, Riyas said the CPI(M) was not the only party to raise concerns over the appointments, pointing out that the Congress and the KSU had also brought the matter before the public.
Responding to the Chief Minister's remarks, Riyas said neither Pinarayi Vijayan nor the CPI(M) had a tradition of "bowing before the RSS chief and lighting a ceremonial lamp."
He said no one had objected to Sangh Parivar leaders meeting the Chief Minister and submitting memorandums. However, the criticism was that the government was implementing the demands raised by Sangh Parivar leaders. According to Riyas, the allegations made by the Chief Minister in response to these criticisms were baseless and intended to distract attention from the real issues.
Riyas further alleged that, over the past 50 days, the present government had taken several decisions that would have been expected from a BJP government if it were in power in Keralam.
He urged the government to respond clearly to the public on the substantive issues instead of attempting to sidestep the controversy.
