Complaint Filed Against MLA Rahul Mankootathil Over Sexual Harassment, Abortion Allegations

Thiruvananthapuram: A complaint has been filed with the Congress High Command against MLA Rahul Mankootathil, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment and abetting abortion. The complaint was submitted by Youth Congress State General Secretary Sajana B Sajan.

The petition demands that the Congress conduct a comprehensive investigation involving women leaders at the national level, identify the victims, and understand their grievances. Sajana noted in a Facebook post that she has submitted the complaint to AICC leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi.

Sajana had earlier demanded that Rahul be removed from primary membership of the party. Following this, the Congress cyber wing launched a harsh smear campaign against her. However, Sajana responded that such threats hold no value for her.

“If I cannot support and strengthen a young woman who has been mentally shattered after being deceived by a masked leader, then what public service am I doing? I am not trying to put the Congress on the defensive; I am trying to enhance its credibility. Why did the party take action against Mankootathil? If the allegations are false, if the voice is not his, why does Rahul not deny it or pursue legal action? If the accusations are wrong, why has he not taken legal action against at least the media outlets that reported them?” — Sajana wrote in herFacebook post.
