World Rallies to Aid Venezuela After Deadly Earthquake Kills 164

Caracus: Countries around the world, including India, have stepped forward to support Venezuela following a devastating earthquake that struck the country. Twin earthquakes that hit Venezuela on Wednesday evening killed 164 people and injured 971 others, prompting several nations to announce their readiness to assist in rescue and relief efforts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on X that India is ready to provide all possible assistance and expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan government and its people. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington would coordinate assistance across all government agencies to support Venezuela. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran has expressed its readiness to provide all necessary help for relief and rescue operations.
The Netherlands said it would send a team comprising rescue personnel, trained dogs and other equipment to Venezuela, allocating around 2 million euros for the deployment. Switzerland said in a statement that its Swiss Rescue Chain has been readied for dispatch to Venezuela at the earliest. Spain's Defence Ministry said 54 of its military rescue personnel, equipped with advanced tools such as rescue cameras and geophones, are on standby to provide emergency assistance.
Germany's Defence Minister said six military aircraft are ready to be deployed to support relief operations. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing that China is willing to provide appropriate assistance as needed, based on Venezuela's requirements.
