Indian national Killed in Iranian Missile, Drone Attack on Kuwiat

Kuwait City: An Indian national has been confirmed killed in an Iranian missile and drone attack targeting Kuwait. The victim, Mansoor Ahmed Rahman (55), was a native of Madhya Pradesh. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has said it has reached out to his family and is working to provide all necessary support and assistance to the bereaved family as well as to those injured in the attack.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry confirmed that key civilian and infrastructure installations were struck in the Wednesday pre-dawn attack, including Kuwait International Airport. A total of 63 people were injured, among them three Indians. Seven critically injured persons underwent emergency surgeries, all of which were completed successfully. Diplomatic missions and other key establishments also sustained damage.

Kuwait condemned the attack in the strongest terms, describing it as a serious threat to the region's security and stability and a clear violation of international law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. The Foreign Ministry stated that Kuwait's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents were non-negotiable, and warned that the country reserved the full right to take all necessary measures in response. It characterised the repeated attacks as part of a deliberate offensive policy that Kuwait would neither accept nor tolerate.
