BNP's Tarique Rahman to Take Oath as Prime Minister of Bangladesh Today

Dhaka: The new government, headed by Tarique Rahman in Bangladesh, will take the oath today. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is coming to power after a huge win in the parliamentary election. Tarique Rahman, who is the BNP chairperson, will become the Prime Minister. The oath-taking ceremony will take place at the official residence, Bangabhaban, in Dhaka at 4 p.m.


The Bangladesh Election Commission stated that the Constitution Reformation Commission will administer the oath. Reports indicate that discussions regarding the ministers have been completed. After noon, the cabinet, led by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, will also be announced. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will represent India at the oath-taking ceremony.


Tarique Rahman stated that to rebuild the country, everyone must unite. He made this remark during a press conference in Dhaka on Saturday. He emphasized that the strength of the country lies in unity, and division will only lead to weakness.


At the same time, after 25 years, this parliament represents the lowest number of women and minority representatives. Only 7 women and 4 minority religion representatives were elected.
