Final Screenings of ‘It Was Just an Accident’ and ‘All the President’s Men’ on IFFK Penultimate Day

Thiruvananthapuram: The 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) will enter its penultimate day on Thursday with a full schedule of 72 film screenings across various sections.
Several films that received strong responses during earlier shows will return to the screen. Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident, the Palme d’Or winner at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, will have its third and final screening at 3 pm. The Homage section will feature Alan J. Pakula’s four-time Oscar-winning classic All the President’s Men.
The day’s programme also includes Samsara, the Indonesian silent film directed by Garin Nugroho, which will be screened at 9.15 am, offering audiences a chance to experience a rare work from contemporary silent cinema.
A wide range of stories from India and abroad will continue to be showcased through the festival’s curated categories. The Indian Cinema Now section will present Full Plate, Hearth and Home and Songs of Forgotten Trees. Malayalam Cinema Today will feature Sheshippu, Anyarude Aakashangal, Samastha Loka, Moham, Shavappetti, Ambrosia and Chavukalyanam.
Films focusing on women’s experiences will be highlighted in the Female Focus section, with screenings of No Other Choice, Sirat and Dreams (Sex Love). The World and Contemporary Cinema sections will also screen widely discussed titles such as Palestine 36, Wajib and Beef.
Alongside the screenings, the festival will host a national seminar on Malayalam cinema at 2.30 pm on Thursday.
