Kochi: Actress Lakshmipriya has resigned from the membership of the actors' organisation AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists), announcing the decision on the organisation's WhatsApp group. In her message, she said she was handing over her resignation to senior members Smt. Kalady Omana, Ponnamma Babu and Usha Alappuzha, adding that if she were to die while they were still alive, no one should even come to see her body. She said there are a few people who genuinely love her, and that everyone else need not set foot inside her home.

The AMMA executive committee had resigned en masse yesterday, with all 17 members stepping down two years ahead of completing their term. Joint secretary Ansiba Hassan had resigned earlier. The entire committee resigned without facing any no-confidence motion.

Lakshmipriya's note:

"I have resigned from membership of the AMMA organisation itself. I submit my resignation to senior members Smt. Kalady Omana, Ponnamma Babu and Usha Alappuzha. I have one request — if I die while you are still alive, no one should come to even see my body. If I live to the age of 60, I don't want the pension I might be entitled to. I don't want insurance. I don't want a wreath. I don't want condolences at all... There are a few people who love me. Everyone else need not set foot inside my home. Thank you."
