Thiruvananthapuram: The Students' Federation of India (SFI) will stage a strong protest march tomorrow towards four major universities in Kerala, announced State Secretary P S Sanjeev. The protest marches will be held at Kannur University, Calicut University, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Kerala University. Sanjeev told the media that the protest will see massive participation and that the students’ voice will be loud and clear.

The agitation is directed against the Vice- Chancellors appointed by the Governor, including those of Kerala University, KTU (APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University), Calicut University, and Kannur University. According to Sanjeev, this will be the first phase of the protest. In the next phase, the SFI plans to march towards universities such as KTU and KUHAS (Kerala University of Health Sciences). The organisation is also considering extending the protests to district headquarters and even to Raj Bhavan.

“In Kerala University, our primary demand is that the Vice-Chancellor resign and step down voluntarily. The VC’s actions reflect an anti-university stance that is clearly aligned with the Sangh Parivar agenda. Our march will be centred on that message,” Sanjeev said.

He added that the Vice- Chancellor of Calicut University must also resign. “A VC who manipulated academic marks to benefit a KSU leader at Victoria College is unfit to hold office. These decisions are being carried out solely under the authority of the Governor. We will not allow this to continue,” Sanjeev asserted.
