India announces Asia Cup T20 2025 squad with Suryakumar as captain

New Delhi: The Indian team for the Asia Cup T20 cricket has been announced. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side. Test team captain Shubman Gill returns to the T20 squad as vice -captain. Malayali player Sanju Samson will be the main wicket keeper. Jasprit Bumrah also makes a comeback, while Shreyas Iyer missed out on selection. Jitesh Sharma has also been included as another wicket keeper. The 15-member squad was announced by the selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar. Team: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice- Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Rinku Singh. Asia Cup with eight teams The Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament will feature eight teams. It will be held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 8 to 28. A total of 19 matches, including the final, will be played. India is in Group A along with Pakistan, Oman, and UAE. Group B consists of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four. The top two sides from the Super Four will play the final. India’s first match will be on the 10th against hosts UAE. On the 14th, they will face Pakistan, and on the 19th, they will play Oman.
