Thrissur: Kerala’s General Education Minister V Sivankutty has congratulated a group of students from Kashmir who travelled to Kerala and won prizes at the State School Arts Festival (Kalolsavam). Sharing a photograph with the students on Facebook, the minister described the moment as a powerful example of friendship and talent without boundaries.

The students—Mohammed Kasim, Mohammed Suhail, Irfan Anjum and Farhan Raza, natives of Poonch in Kashmir—had expressed their wish to meet the minister in person. All four are Class 10 students of Markaz Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode. After achieving remarkable success in Urdu competitions, they conveyed their desire to meet the minister, who, upon learning of this, invited them to the VIP dais at the festival venue.

The minister said he had met the students earlier at Markaz and that meeting them again at the festival venue made the moment even more special. The students shared that the experience and atmosphere of Kerala’s school arts festivals were highly inspiring and expressed happiness at being part of Kerala’s acclaimed education system. They also said the interaction with the minister was unexpected and unforgettable, something they would cherish for a lifetime.

In his Facebook post, Sivankutty wrote that the students’ success proves that art and education know no boundaries, and added that students who come from Kashmir to Kerala and experience the strength of the state’s public education system are a source of pride for Kerala.
