Nilambur Bypoll 2025: 70.76% Voter Turnout So Far

Nilambur: As polling progresses in Nilambur, recorded a voter turnout of 70.76 percent. Voting began at 7 AM on Thursday. Several booths across the constituency witnessed large gatherings of voters eager to exercise their democratic right.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote at Booth No. 202 in Mankuth GLPS School, LDF candidate M Swaraj expressed strong confidence in his victory. "At no stage of the election did I have any doubts. My confidence has only grown throughout the campaign. Every day, supporters welcome me with overwhelming enthusiasm. Everyone should come out and vote, use their democratic right. I hope the polling percentage continues to rise," he said.

Ten candidates are in the fray for the Nilambur seat: M Swaraj (LDF), Aryadan Shoukath (UDF), Adv. Mohan George (NDA), Adv. Sadiq Naduthodi (SDPI), P.V. Anwar (Independent), N. Jayarajan (Independent), P. Radhakrishnan Namboothirippad (Independent), Vijayan (Independent), G. Satheesh Kumar (Independent), and Harinarayanan (Independent).
The political fronts remain hopeful that this year’s turnout will surpass the previous figure of 75.23 percent.
The voting commenced in the morning after a mock polling was carried out to check if the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) were working.
The final voter list includes 1,13,613 men, 1,18,760 women and 8 transgender persons, with 7,787 first-time voters, 373 overseas voters, and 324 service voters.
Election officials received polling materials on Wednesday from the distribution centre at Chungathara Mar Thoma Higher Secondary School.
