Idukki: A wild elephant attack occurred on the Munnar-Marayur road, where the elephant destroyed a car belonging to natives of Eerattupetta. The travelers reported that the vehicle was attacked by an elephant named Padayappa. The incident took place on Saturday night at around 11 p.m.

The elephant first attacked a tourist bus that was parked on the roadside. Then, the elephant stopped an SUV that had come onto the road. According to officials, the vehicle had come to a stop, and the passengers remained inside. The elephant smashed the front of the car, cracking the roof and damaging the bonnet. Forest officials quickly arrived at the scene, but the elephant had already moved away before they could reach the location. The damaged car was later moved to the nearest forest station.

Forest officials and the Rapid Response Team (RRT) are closely monitoring Padayappa's movements.
