UDF Stoops to Cyber Attacks and Vandalism Against LDF's Veena George in Aranmula

Veena George
Pathanamthitta: With defeat looming, the United Democratic Front has resorted to desperate and unscrupulous tactics in Aranmula, unleashing a coordinated campaign of anonymous cyber attacks against LDF candidate Veena George while also vandalising her election materials across the constituency.
Faceless accounts on social media platforms have been weaponised to mount what Veena George herself described as vile and cruel attacks targeting her personally. The candidate stated that the online abuse has been relentless, with a large volume of the content being sexually charged and deeply degrading in nature. She made clear that she believes a deliberate conspiracy lies behind the orchestrated campaign, aimed at damaging her public image and spreading misinformation among voters ahead of polling day.
Chief Electoral Agent Adv. Omaloor Sankaran has filed formal complaints with the District Collector and the State Election Commissioner, urging strong legal action against those responsible. The complaints, backed by documentary evidence of the defamatory content, contend that the social media offensive constitutes a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
On the ground, campaign materials belonging to Veena George were extensively destroyed in Mathur, Chenneerkara, Ambalathumpad, and Muripara. Flex boards and posters were torn down and damaged on a large scale in recent days. The LDF has filed a police complaint in connection with the vandalism.
The turn to aggressive and foul tactics is being linked to deepening turmoil within the Congress over the party's choice of candidate in Aranmula — an internal rebellion that has refused to die down and has left the UDF campaign visibly rattled.
