Thiruvananthapuram: Internal differences within the Congress have surfaced once again as Opposition Leader VD Satheesan publicly rejected the remarks made by KPCC President Sunny Joseph regarding the second sexual harassment complaint filed against Rahul Mamkootathil.

Sunny Joseph had claimed that the complaint was backed by a “legal brain” and that it was “well drafted.” However, Satheesan dismissed these comments entirely. He stated that there is nothing wrong with a complaint being well drafted. “A person filing a complaint will naturally seek legal assistance. There is nothing wrong in that,” Satheesan clarified, adding that well-drafted complaints are normal and appropriate.

Sunny Joseph had argued that the second complaint against Rahul Mamkootathil had clear legal guidance behind it. Responding to questions from journalists about why the complaint was quickly handed over to the police—especially since the media received it before the KPCC—Sunny Joseph said, “One may assume so.”

Despite repeated claims by the Congress that action has been taken against Rahul Mamkootathil, party leaders appear to be shielding him. Sunny Joseph’s public comments are seen as evidence of this stance. Earlier too, during the actor assault case, the UDF convener had taken a position against the survivor.
