Minister V Sivankutty Hits Back at Congres Over Remarks Against CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Calls it Political Bankruptcy

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister V Sivankutty on Wednesday launched a sharp counter-attack against the Congress over remarks made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders targeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, calling the remarks deeply offensive and a violation of basic political decorum.

Speaking to the media, Sivankutty said the personal attacks against the Chief Minister were an expression of Congress's political bankruptcy. He said leaders like Revanth Reddy may not fully appreciate who Pinarayi Vijayan is, and that such remarks had only served to enhance the dignity of the LDF while exposing the Congress's own political standards to the public.

Responding to the Congress's attempts to brand the Chief Minister as the BJP's B-team, Sivankutty said it was Pinarayi Vijayan who had built a firm wall in Kerala against the RSS's communal agenda. While Congress leaders across the country were defecting to the BJP, he said, it was the Left in Kerala that had stood its ground without yielding an inch. He added that in Nemom, the LDF was fighting to defeat the BJP and its communal politics outright.

The Minister questioned whose interests the Congress was serving in Kerala, arguing that by denigrating the Chief Minister, the party was effectively clearing the path for the BJP. He warned that those who believed they could mislead the people of Kerala through false propaganda against the person who led the state's development were mistaken, and expressed confidence that the voters of Kerala — particularly in Nemom — would deliver a fitting response.
