Kochi: At the Invest Kerala Summit in Kochi, Union Ministers such as Piyush Goyal, Nitin Gadkari, Jayanth Chowdhary showered praise on the state’s growth trajectory, with a focus on its robust infrastructure, tourism, and manufacturing sectors.

Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister for Commerce and Industries, emphasized the state’s leadership in various sectors and assured full support from the Centre for further investments in Kerala.

Piyush Goyal, expressed the Centre's unwavering support and solidarity towards investments in Kerala at the Invest Kerala Summit held in Kochi. During his address, Goyal highlighted that Kerala is at the forefront in sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, manufacturing, and logistics development. He further mentioned the joint project between the Kerala and Union Governments – the semi-high-speed rail project (Silver Line). This initiative is expected to reduce travel time between Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode to just four hours, enhancing connectivity across the state.

Goyal also took the opportunity to commend P Rajeev, stating that he is one of the finest parliamentarians he has come across during his political career.


In his speech at the summit, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced a monumental rupees 50,000 crore investment in Kerala’s road infrastructure. The plan includes 31 projects spanning 896 kilometers, with key projects like the four-laning of the Palakkad-Kozhikode section of NH 966, the Angamaly-Kundannoor-Ernakulam bypass, and the Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road, expected to commence soon. These infrastructure improvements will significantly boost the state’s road connectivity.


Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayanth Chowdhary, also praised Kerala's workforce, asserting that anyone who comes to the state for business or investment will not leave disappointed. He noted that Kerala’s young population is among the most skilled in the country, making the state a vital contributor to India’s growth. Chowdhary added that he would urge Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath to study the Kochi Water Metro project, which could serve as a model for similar initiatives in other states.
