Massive Fire Breaks Out at Thrissur Railway Station

Thrissur: A massive fire broke out at Thrissur Railway Station, destroying hundreds of parked motorcycles. The fire has not yet been brought fully under control. The blaze spread near the bike shed close to Platform No. 2. According to reports, more than 600 motorcycles have been gutted in the fire.

According to eyewitness statement, initially, two motorcycles caught fire and it could have been extinguished at an early stage. However, the fire spread extensively because people waited for the fire engine to arrive instead of attempting to douse it immediately. The lack of proper fire-fighting facilities at the railway station contributed to the large-scale damage. Since the motorcycles contained fuel, the fire spread rapidly to other vehicles.

The fire raged intensely, prompting the deployment of additional fire force units. Police are also taking steps to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby areas.

Meanwhile, the fire also spread to the engine of a stationary train. Fire force teams from multiple stations rushed to the spot to battle the blaze. Despite the magnitude of the fire and the fact that Thrissur is a busy railway station with constant public presence, no injuries were reported, which has come as a major relief. Train services were not affected in any way, providing further reassurance to passengers.

The incident is being described as one of the biggest fires to have occurred in Thrissur in recent times.
