Thrissur: In a shocking incident from Puthukkad, Thrissur, a couple allegedly buried their newborn babies. The Puthukkad police have taken Bhavin (25) from Amballur and Aneesha (22) from Nooluvalli, Marathur, into custody in connection with the case. The two babies, born at different times, were buried by the couple.

The bones of the babies were reportedly preserved for performing final rites. However, out of fear, Bhavin went to the Puthukkad police station around 2 am on Sunday with the remains, which led to the incident coming to light. Bhavin informed the police that two babies were born from his relationship with Aneesha in 2021 and 2024.

He told the police that the bones were of babies who had died during childbirth. Following this, Aneesha was also brought to the station and questioned. Bhavin revealed that he had been in contact with Aneesha through Facebook since 2020. Aneesha had given birth to two boys, both of whom died shortly after birth.

The first delivery took place on November 6, 2021, in the bathroom of Aneesha’s house. After the baby died, Aneesha secretly buried the body in the yard. Eight months later, she handed over the baby’s bones to Bhavin. Aneesha became pregnant again and on April 29, 2024, gave birth to another boy at her home. That child also died immediately, and the body was handed over to Bhavin in Amballur. Bhavin then buried the child secretly behind his house. Both of them have confessed to these details.

Reports say Bhavin appeared at the police station with the remains of both children. The police have begun an investigation, including the possibility of whether the babies were murdered before burial.
