The Fifth International Kerala Studies Congress Begins Tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram: The fifth International Kerala Studies Congress, which will serve as a guide for the developmental leap of future Kerala, will begin on Saturday. The congress, organized under the leadership of the A.K.G. Study and Research Center, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at 9:30 AM on Saturday at the A.K.G. Hall. Participants will include CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan, Politburo member A. Vijayaraghavan, CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam, Kerala Congress (M) Chairman Jose K. Mani, and others.


A total of 3,000 delegates will participate across 18 venues, with 46 discussion sessions taking place. Seminars on a variety of topics will undergo comprehensive analysis based on both academic and practical experiences. There will also be four symposia. These will focus on topics such as the international significance of Kerala’s developmental experience, secular and progressive culture, a science and technology policy for Kerala, and the awards of the 16th Finance Commission. The events will be held at the A.K.G. Study and Research Center, Hasan Marikar Hall, and University College.


The central government’s political discrimination and economic blockades against Kerala, as well as responses to these, will be major topics of discussion at the congress. The closing session will be inaugurated by CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby at 2 PM on Sunday at the A.K.G. Hall.
