The Aim of the Puthuyuga Yatra is to Take Kerala Back to the Old UDF Era: T. P. Ramakrishnan

Kochi: V. D. Satheesan’s Puthuyuga Yathra aims to take Kerala back to the period of the late UDF government, said LDF convenor T. P. Ramakrishnan. He alleged that those years were marked by power cuts, shortages of school textbooks, corruption, and abuse of power. He said that the LDF put an end to that phase and led the state towards development.
He stated that the present government has turned several major projects, including the development of national highways, into reality. He was speaking while inaugurating the state special convention of the Head Load and General Workers Federation (CITU).
Ramakrishnan said that the LDF government must return to power to protect the interests of workers. A lack of continuity in governance, he argued, would negatively affect the working class. He accused the UDF and the BJP of being against workers and of failing to raise Kerala’s demands before the Centre. He also alleged that the BJP-led Central government prioritises corporate interests.
Referring to the recent workers’ strike that raised various labour issues, he said it was opposed by the UDF and V. D. Satheesan, while the LDF supported it. The public should understand this difference, he added.
