Thiruvananthapuram: A survivor who filed a complaint against Congress MLA Rahul Mamkoottathil has shared an image of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan holding a cup inscribed with the words “Love you to the moon and back,” describing it as a poignant reflection of the message she had longed to convey to her unborn child.

Earlier, the survivor had posted a heartfelt message on Facebook mourning her unborn child, whom she alleges was lost due to a forced abortion connected to Rahul Mamkoottathil. She concluded that post with the words “love to the moon and back,” a tribute to the child she could not hold.

By holding a cup with the same phrase during Kerala’s protest against the Centre’s alleged financial blockade, the Chief Minister appeared to extend a gesture of solidarity. Sharing the image, the survivor wrote, “The words on that cup echo the life within me that was torn away,” highlighting how the phrase symbolically represents the love she was unable to express directly.

The gesture has sparked discussion about the intersection of personal tragedy and public political symbolism, drawing attention both to the survivor’s courage in coming forward and to the Chief Minister’s act, which many interpreted as a sign of empathy amid a politically charged environment.
