Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Minister of Tourism Suresh Gopi was questioned by the police in connection with the alleged conspiracy to disrupt Thrissur Pooram. The interrogation took place at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram, and the investigation report will be submitted to the ADGP later this month.
The case against Suresh Gopi alleges that he entered the Pooram venue in an ambulance, violating regulations on the day of the event. Visuals of him getting out of the ambulance had gone viral. However, the actor-politician had publicly claimed that the allegation was false and that his arrival in the ambulance was just an illusion.
But when the visuals of him stepping out of the ambulance resurfaced in the media, he presented a new version of events. He stated that he had travelled five kilometers by car and only later switched to the ambulance because his vehicle was attacked by goons. Later, he added another explanation, that he had leg pain and was unable to walk, which is why he used the ambulance. The case was registered by Thrissur East Police.
