Probe Widens in Morphing Case; Racket May Have State-Wide Links

Kochi: Investigation is progressing in the case involving KSU leader Sreehari, who is accused of morphing images and videos of teachers and female students to produce obscene content. Police have confirmed that Saneesh, arrested the previous day, was part of a five-member gang that included Sreehari. Saneesh's role included distributing the obscene videos produced by his associates to groups of buyers, handling financial transactions, and serving as admin of certain groups. He also had a hand in producing the content. Several images, videos and chats on his phone had been deleted, though some have been recovered.

Sreehari, who is in three-day police custody, is being questioned in detail. According to reports, attempts are made to keep the case from expanding to implicate more people. A proper investigation, however, could reveal the workings of a state-wide racket and bring political connections to light. Youth Congress workers had reportedly attempted to shield a student facing similar allegations at Bharata Mata College.

Saneesh (20), a BCom student at IHRD College, Mavelikkara, and a native of Kurathikkad, Alappuzha, was arrested on Monday. His mobile phones and laptop have been seized and are being examined with the help of cyber experts.
