Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate will hear the petition against Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil for violating bail conditions in the second rape case on Tuesday. In the case, the defense lawyer for Mamkootathil sought more time to file objections and arguments. However, the prosecution requested that the case should not be delayed further. As a result, the case has been postponed until Tuesday.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) filed a petition seeking the cancellation of Mamkootathil's bail for making a phone call to the survivor, which violates the anticipatory bail conditions. The survivor told the SIT that Mamkootathil had tried to contact her through a WhatsApp call.

Subsequently, the SIT court confirmed that the defendant had violated the bail conditions. The condition in the bail order, which prohibited influencing the survivors, was violated, according to the SIT court.

The Thiruvananthapuram Sessions Court had granted bail to Mamkootathil under strict conditions. The court's bail order had explicitly stated that the defendant should not attempt to influence the survivors or witnesses during the bail period.

Rahul, the defendant, had also received anticipatory bail in two other sexual assault cases. The survivors had made it clear that Rahul had committed serious and brutal sexual offenses. The survivors were also facing cyberattacks from Rahul's followers. In light of these factors, bail was granted with stringent conditions.
