Second rape Case Against Rahul Mamkootathil; Survivor's Confidential Statement Recorded

Thiruvananthapuram: The survivor's second confidential statement has been recorded in the second rape case filed against Rahul Mamkootathil. Appearing before the Magistrate at the Nedumangad Magistrate Court, the woman testified that she was sexually assaulted multiple times and repeatedly raped under the pretext of a marriage proposal. Her medical examination has since been completed.

The complainant, a 23-year-old native of Bengaluru, initially sent her complaint via email to the KPCC President, who then forwarded it to the police. Her testimony alleges that Rahul brutally raped her and caused physical injuries to her body. She stated that she was taken to a homestay under the guise of having a conversation, where the assault occurred. According to her statement to the investigation team, she sustained injuries all over her body while Rahul allegedly told her, "I want to rape you."

The survivor further alleged that the assault continued even while she suffered from shortness of breath and panic attacks. She also claimed that Rahul eventually told her he could not marry her. The case involves allegations of brutal rape, impregnation, and forced abortion. The second accused in the case is Rahul’s friend, Jobi Joseph, who is alleged to have provided the survivor with abortion pills.
