Sabarimala: Despite a significant influx of devotees, pilgrims were able to have a smooth and satisfying darshan at Sabarimala, with well-coordinated crowd management in place. From Monday morning onward, there was a steady arrival of pilgrims. Efficient arrangements by the government and the Devaswom Board ensured that devotees could complete their darshan without long waits.

On Sunday, only a brief queue was observed at the nadappanthal. As per the official count until 6 PM on Sunday, 39,724 pilgrims had completed darshan, while 64,055 devotees climbed the hill on Saturday. Typically, weekends witness higher footfall, but this season has shown a different trend — a greater number of pilgrims are arriving on weekdays. This pattern has been consistent in recent weeks. While Saturdays and Sundays recorded comparatively lower attendance, the following Monday and Tuesday saw the highest pilgrim turnout of the ongoing Mandala–Makaravilakku season.

During last week’s Monday and Tuesday alone, more than two lakh devotees visited the shrine. Following this surge, authorities tightened controls on the virtual queue system, which helped regulate crowd movement more effectively. In compliance with High Court directives, police have also intensified verification of virtual queue and spot-booking passes to ensure strict adherence to entry protocols.
