Thiruvananthapuram: CPI M state secretary M V Govindan asserted that everyone involved in the Sabarimala gold scam will be brought before the law, making it clear that the party will not shield anyone found guilty.
He reminded that the CPI M had already expressed this stance when the High Court appointed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the case. “Whoever took Lord Ayyappa’s sacred gold offering will not be protected in any way. We have nothing to conceal,” Govindan said.
The M V Govindan also pointed out that the affiliations of those arrested, including some officials, have now become evident. “The media has avoided discussing their links with the Congress,” he remarked.
Criticising Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Govindan said the BJP leader’s call to hand over the probe to central agencies was aimed at obstructing the High Court–supervised investigation. “That demand is clearly intended to protect certain individuals,” he added.
