RSS Worker's Appointment to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala's Security Detail Triggers Controversy

Alappuzha: Controversy has erupted over the appointment of a former RSS branch trainer and active RSS worker as a security officer for Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. P Krish Lal, a native of Ambalapuzha, and a known RSS activist, has been appointed to the minister's permanent pilot vehicle.
Krish Lal is related to a woman member of the Thrikkunnappuzha panchayat governing committee and is also a Congress leader's relative. He had previously served as a trainer at an RSS branch held at the Thevarunada temple ground in Neerkkunnam, and his family members are also active BJP and RSS workers.
The matter has triggered sharp criticism at the Ambalapuzha Congress block committee level. One section demanded that a resolution be passed calling for his removal from the security detail, but block Congress president T A Hameed reportedly opposed the move. With the issue giving rise to fresh factional tensions within the block Congress committee, members decided to inform the Home Minister directly and dispersed without passing any resolution.
The order was issued appointing 17 police personnel for the minister's permanent pilot and escort duties, with Krish Lal listed ninth. He is currently posted in Malappuram. Congress workers have demanded an inquiry into how his name made it onto the list when many young men from Congress families are also serving in the police, and have warned that if he is not removed, strong opposition will follow.
